Shelf Awareness is one of my favorite online newsletter subscriptions--it gives a lot of different information about the book trade, bookstores, and authors. On my nightstand (next to a very cold, very good glass of Fat Tire beer): Hold the Enlightenment by Tim Cahill (adventure travel re-read); Structure and Flow (about writing), David Fryxell; Words of Wisdom, Dalai Lama; House of Rain (Anasazi/Travel re-read), Chraig Childs; Soul of Nowhere (travel), Craig Childs; The Day of Battle (WWII), Rick Atkinson.
Book I've "faked" reading: "When Harry Met Sally" aside, I've never faked it!

Favorite book when I was a child:
Island of the Blue Dolphin and The Call of the Wild. Can't count how many times I've read those two.
